The relationship between total debt and shareholders’ equity exhibited a dynamic pattern over the observed period. Initially, the debt-to-equity ratio demonstrated a decreasing trend, followed by a period of relative stability, and then a significant increase, culminating in substantial negative equity in later years.

Initial Phase (2005-2006)
From 2005 to 2006, the debt-to-equity ratio decreased from 0.67 to 0.55. This indicates a reduction in leverage, as the growth in shareholders’ equity slightly outpaced the decrease in total debt during this timeframe.
Stabilization and Increase (2006-2008)
Following the initial decrease, the ratio remained relatively stable between 0.55 and 0.76 from 2006 through 2008. Total debt increased during this period, but shareholders’ equity also experienced fluctuations, mitigating the impact on the overall ratio.
Continued Leverage (2008-2010)
The debt-to-equity ratio continued to rise from 0.76 in 2008 to 0.79 in 2010, suggesting an increasing reliance on debt financing. Both total debt and shareholders’ equity experienced changes, but the increase in debt was more pronounced.
Escalating Debt (2010-2014)
From 2010 to 2014, the debt-to-equity ratio increased substantially, reaching 1.17. This was driven by a consistent rise in total debt alongside a decline in shareholders’ equity, particularly a significant decrease in 2014. This period indicates a considerable increase in financial risk.
Dramatic Shift to Negative Equity (2014-2025)
The period from 2014 onwards witnessed a dramatic shift, with shareholders’ equity declining into negative territory. Consequently, the debt-to-equity ratio experienced a massive surge, reaching 3.40 in 2015. While the ratio is not calculated for subsequent years due to the negative equity, the continued negative equity and fluctuating debt levels suggest a severely distressed financial position. The negative equity indicates that the company’s liabilities exceed its assets.

In summary, the company initially maintained a moderate level of debt relative to equity. However, a sustained increase in debt coupled with a significant erosion of shareholders’ equity led to a substantial increase in leverage and ultimately, a negative equity position. This trend suggests a deteriorating financial health and increased financial risk over the analyzed period.
