Current Assets
The current assets exhibited significant fluctuations over the period. Initially, there was a marked increase from roughly 14,654 million USD in 2005 to a peak of 25,553 million USD in 2006. This was followed by a general decline and stabilization around 20,000 to 23,000 million USD from 2007 through 2012. Starting in 2013, current assets increased notably, reaching a substantial peak of approximately 79,146 million USD in 2017. Subsequently, current assets decreased steadily, falling to 31,168 million USD by 2024.
Current Liabilities
Current liabilities also showed considerable variability. From 25,418 million USD in 2005, they rose sharply to over 40,482 million USD in 2006, before experiencing a gradual decline until 2011. From 2012 through 2017, liabilities surged significantly, peaking near 81,389 million USD in 2017, concurrent with the peak in current assets. Following this peak, liabilities exhibited a downward trend but remained elevated compared to early years, ending at roughly 46,872 million USD in 2024.
Current Ratio
The current ratio remained below 1.0 across the entire period, indicating a persistent condition where current liabilities exceeded current assets. The ratio fluctuated between 0.53 and 0.97, with its lowest point in 2008 (0.53) and its highest near 0.97 in 2017. Post-2017, the ratio declined again, reaching around 0.66 in 2024, highlighting a reduction in short-term liquidity. This pattern suggests challenges in maintaining adequate short-term financial stability throughout the period, despite some improvement around 2017.
