The analysis of return on equity (ROE) from 2005 to 2026 reveals a trajectory characterized by early stability, a period of significant expansion and volatility, and a recent downward trend. Over the two-decade span, the company transitioned from moderate efficiency levels to peak performance before experiencing a contraction in profitability relative to equity.

Stability and Moderate Growth (2005–2014)
During this initial period, ROE remained relatively stable, fluctuating within a narrow band between 17.10% and 24.88%. Net income grew steadily from 1,212 million USD in 2005 to 2,693 million USD in 2014, while shareholders' equity expanded proportionally from 5,644 million USD to 10,824 million USD. This indicates a consistent relationship between capital investment and earnings generation.
Expansion and High Volatility (2015–2022)
A period of heightened efficiency began in 2015, with ROE climbing to 34.17% by 2017. A significant anomaly occurred in 2018, where a sharp decline in net income to 1,933 million USD and a reduction in shareholders' equity to 9,812 million USD resulted in ROE dropping to 19.70%. Following this dip, the company entered its most aggressive growth phase, with ROE peaking at 44.86% in 2021. This surge was driven by net income reaching a high of 6,046 million USD in 2022, coinciding with a substantial increase in shareholders' equity to 15,281 million USD.
Recent Performance Contraction (2023–2026)
From 2023 onward, a clear downward trend in ROE is observed, falling from 36.20% in 2023 to 20.91% by 2026. This decline is primarily attributed to a reduction in net income, which dropped to 3,108 million USD in 2026. Although shareholders' equity has remained relatively high compared to the early 2000s, the diminishing net income has led to a compression of the return on equity, returning the ratio to levels similar to those seen during the 2005–2014 period.
