1 US$ in millions

Current Assets
Current assets displayed moderate fluctuations throughout the observed period. From 2005 to 2013, the values generally increased from 2,133 million US dollars to a peak of approximately 2,916 million US dollars in 2013 with minor variations. A significant surge is noted in 2018, where current assets jumped sharply to 17,272 million US dollars. Following this peak, the values declined to a range near 10,000 to 13,000 million US dollars between 2019 and 2024, showing somewhat stabilized but lower current asset levels compared to the 2018 spike.
Current Liabilities
Similar to current assets, current liabilities fluctuated over time with an increasing trend until 2013. They rose from 2,001 million US dollars in 2005 to 2,664 million US dollars in 2013. A pronounced increase in 2018 is evident, reaching 12,956 million US dollars. Post-2018, current liabilities remained elevated relative to the pre-2018 period, oscillating between approximately 12,000 and 16,000 million US dollars through 2024, demonstrating a substantial change in the company’s short-term obligations.
Current Ratio
The current ratio experienced notable variability, ranging between 0.74 and 1.39. Early years up to 2007 showed a downward trend, falling below 1.0 from 2007 through 2009, indicating tighter short-term liquidity during that period. The ratio improved between 2010 and 2015, rising above 1.0 with a peak at 1.39 in 2014, suggesting increased coverage of current liabilities by current assets. However, from 2016 onwards, the current ratio mostly remained below 1.0, reaching lows near 0.74 and remaining below 1.0 for several years. A slight improvement is observed in 2024 when the ratio approaches 0.89, still indicating that current liabilities generally exceeded current assets in the later years.
